VERY OLD antique bisque and fabric doll. please read description. Condition is "Used".
I am afraid I know little about this doll’s origin. I call her a “poor child’s doll” because she is so small and simple.
She belonged to the great grandmother of my 2nd cousin, who would be 99 years old if still living. She pinned this note (pictured) on her many years ago, saying the doll was over 200 years old, so she obviously wasn’t new when her great grandmother received her. Somewhere along the way, someone made crude clothing for her to hold her human hair on, and protect the fabric underneath. I have never removed the clothing for fear I’d harm the doll somehow.
She has been well loved and protected and I’d like to find her a loving home where she will be appreciated and admired.
